This unique pleated vase from the 1980s has been given new life by incorporating materials that were once considered waste and harmful to the environment.

The vase features intricate pleats and curves that add a sense of elegance and sophistication. What makes this vase truly special is the use of Pennsylvania anthracite coal from the Huber Colliery and iron oxide from Solomn Creek. The iron oxide once polluted the stream, but has been repurposed into a beautiful work of art.

The sparkling black anthracite coal contrasts beautifully against the matte texture of the iron oxide. The iron oxide has a deep, rich color that ranges from a rusty red to a deep brown.
